"Bakla!"
Today Rama was bullied by a bunch of neighborhood kids. She was at Tita Honey's house. When she went out to get something from the store with another cousin, kids called out to her "Bakla!" I suppose it was because of her super-short hair. She cried. A lot.
Tita Honey tried to console her. "Mga abnoy 'yun." And then they went back outside. Honey started pointing out what a bunch of losers the other kids were. Eventually, Rama recovered. On the phone with her, she told me the story. At first, she said "Gusto ko na lang, long hair..." I said ok, but still pointed out that a lot of girls in the family had short hair and it was OK. At the end of the conversation, she was fine again with her short hair. Kids can be so cruel.

Aww Rama! They can really be cruel! Before I even read this post, I made a note to comment about her cute pixie-cut and the hair that comes down the side of her face in this picture - love it! It's so pretty. SHE'S so pretty!
Honey must have told her those bullies were street kids who didn't have good manners because they didn't go to school. So when she related to me the story, she described the kids as "walang alam sa buhay." O, bloggable yan!
Oh no! People were also quite mean to me when I was younger because I also had short hair growing up so I know how she feels. Your daughter is really cute! =)
One of these days, I really should let Rama hang out with Katrina. Better yet, let Katrina loose on those kids!
Thanks, guys. It just really is more convenient for me to keep her hair wash-and-wear. And I really DO like how it looks on her. So, short it shall stay.
its just funny how 12 years from now those punks are going to be dreaming that Rama would even glimpse at them even for a mere milisecond! those punks really think theyre cool and all probably even bragging to their friends that they teased this girl. too bad for them, they'll grow up as "tambays" at the rate theyre going while rama will grow up to be a sophisticated, educated, beautiful and well-loved individual.
btw, this is mark :)
