Rama, Meet Carlos

It's not like they haven't met before. Rama met Carlos on a few occasions in Manila. And she still recognized him after all these years. Last weekend, I took her to see the famous Intramuros tour... in Toronto!

The performance. When Carlos was talking about adobe - in the context of available building materials in Manila then- Rama got a bit confused: "I thought he said adobo."

Rama described Carlos as "hilarious." Even as she looks so serious here.

During the intermission, I went to the second floor of the venue and took this. The space was a garage-by-day-artspace-venue-by-night. Very improv, and therefore, very Pinoy.

For the finale, halo-halo for everyone!

Post-performance. Both of them were distracted by another kid playing (and popping) balloons.
Loved the show. Loved seeing Carlos again. Loved that Rama got a taste of Manila in Toronto.

I've been a lurker here for a while now but somehow lost your site when my computer broke down and had to be re-configured. Thanks to Carlos Celdran I found my way back here. I'm a Torontonian and was just at Carlos' show at Rolly's Garage the same time you and your daughter were there but I didn't realize it was you until I saw the picture in Carlos' blog (I'm the lady in printed top with a red tote standing behind Carlos and Rama). It would have been nice to have met you. I very much enjoy reading your blog which makes me sometimes wish that my almost-7-year-old granddaughter was here (she lives in Phils.) so she and I can do and enjoy all the nice things you and Rama do in our nice city. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experiences with your daughter.

Sorry, I meant the picture I saw in your blog (not Carlos').

were the one with the quiapo-baclaran-pasay- or something bag? of course i remember that. I took your picture with Romeo and Carlos. Wow. And you read this. haha. Double wow. I guess we were caught up in the excitement of the show and we missed chatting a bit more. I know about missing loved ones back home. So much to share here, yes. I'm sure we'll meet again - perhaps next year when carlos comes back (fingers crossed). Or even sooner. Cheers!
